Exceptional Family
Member Program

The Air Force’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is designed to provide support to military family members with  physical, emotional, developmental, psychological, intellectual or social impairments/disabilities. EFMP is comprised of three components who work together to support military members and their families.

EFMP - Family Support

Helping families on the path to empowerment by providing information and referral services, non-medical case management, training and other forms of support, such as opportunities for families to connect around a common need or concern

Helping relocating families pinpoint and navigate formal programs and services and informal supports, which may have a different title in the new state or fall under a different agency

Bridging gaps in programs, services and supports, and helping families understand what's offered, how to determine eligibility and how to apply for benefits and entitlements

Providing community enhancement by educational workshops and community events meant to support and provide community engagement to EFMP Families. Notification of events is through a monthly newsletter and the Facebook page.

Helping families find respite care for their qualifying member through DoD Standardized RESPITE CARE program.
